98 Days on the Wall to the end of the year; how are you doing on your 2013 goals? Do you have an ACTION PLAN yet? What one thing can you do today to get you closer to your goal?
There is a natural tendency to drift and lose focus as we approach the end of anything. Drift can kill momentum and zap energy causing you to lose sight of the goal. Take stock of where you are (right now) and use the final 100 days of the year to encourage, clear the clutter and build momentum. The first 90 Days sets a pace to achieve your year-end goals. The last 10 days celebrates how far you have come, leaving you energized with the stage set to make 2014 your Best Year Ever!!
LEADERS WANTED – Apply Everywhere!
“Do not follow where the path may lead instead where there is no path and leave a trail. ~Ralph Waldo Emerson
I grasped RWE’s meaning on the fifth day my oldest son came home from kindergarten. On our walk home from bus stop, I asked him how his day went. He thought a moment and simply said, “Mom, Monday I have to play shy so the teacher picks me to lead when we get in line to go back into our room.” Message received — my five-year-old was learning to be a leader.
There are three “A”s in great leadership:
- ATTITUDE – The first element of achieving anything begins with an attitude of gratitude and generosity.
- AWARENESS – Listen, learn and watch for opportunities.
- ADAPTABILITY – The ability to embrace change and flexibility to adjust to different conditions.
The older we get, the better we get. Be a leader in your class, your family, your team or a project. This week take a step back and become a third person in your environment. Look at your three “A”s: Attitude, Awareness and Adaptability. Are you stuck anywhere? Is there a shift you might make or an adjustment that will get you moving forward toward your goal?
